The story of the house
A place for meeting, for good food and for hospitality
The story of our house begins in the mid-1960s. What first opened on this spot was the Piccolo Bar, a meeting place for people from Auer and the villages around it. Even then, one idea was at the heart of it: to create a place for company, hospitality and good food.

In the early 1970s it grew into the Pizzeria Unterland, the beginning of our tradition as a pizzeria. Over the years the house grew along with its guests, adapted to new times and stayed true to its values: quality, passion and genuine Italian cooking.

A defining chapter came with the rebuild in the 1990s. After extensive renovation the restaurant was redesigned and reopened under the name Aura, a name that still stands for atmosphere, good food and hospitality today.
Our kitchen brings Italian classics together with regional South Tyrolean tradition. We are best known for our pizza from the wood-fired stone oven. It is baked over beech wood and made with a dough that rests for at least 24 hours, for a result that is light and full of aroma.
Today the Pizzeria Aura is a meeting place for guests from Auer, Neumarkt, Montan, Kaltern and Tramin, and from the whole region around Bolzano. Whether it is a lunch break, a family meal or an easy evening with friends, our house is a place to feel at home.
We are proud to carry this tradition forward in Auer, and to welcome our guests day after day.
